This range is designed to explore the broad requirements of precision weighing from 3 decimal places of a gram down to 6. These precision electrical balances will appear in laboratories and precision weighing application across the UK. ATEX / Hazardous Area Balances

ATEX or Hazard Area balances & scales are engineered to operate safely in volatile environments such as those handling flammable and explosive materials. Built with robust materials and protective features, they minimise the risk of sparks or ignition. They guarantee safe, reliable and accurate weighing in heavily controlled and regulated environments such as oil, gas, chemical processing and defence. Analytical and Semi-micro balances

Analytical and Semi-Micro balances are ideal when you are measuring weight at a much for precise level. Our extensive range has some of the big players in this field, whether affordability, reliability, repeatability or linearity is your key focus we have a scale to suit your needs. Analytical Balances go down to 0.1mg whereas Semi-Micro is pushing the limits of what is possible at 0.01mg (beaten only by rare Micro balances.)

Precision Balances

Precision, Analytical, Semi-Micro and Micro Balances are often referred to simply as Precision balances. A step up from a scale, a precision balance is usually designed to go on a suitable bench and weight to 3 decimal places of a gram or smaller. Used commonly in a lab or formulating mixtures where accuracy and reliability are key.

Micro Balances

Micro Balances are the highest level of precision balance. For cutting edge applications such as pesticide detection, emissions testing, pipette calibration stint weighing, Ashing and Incineration, general pharmaceuticals and nanotechnology. Micro balances offer extreme levels of readability down to 0.001mg and impressive repeatability/reliability to match.

Portable/Low-cost Balances

Portable Balances or Low-cost Balances are affordable, lightweight, entry level Balances for weighing on the go. Being on the go the conditions or environments are not suitable for more precise balances (4 decimal places and above) as the results may be skewed. Where portable balances really stand out is the variety of applications they can be used in. Laboratory and Research: Used for formulation, quality inspections, testing, and experimentation in various scientific disciplines. Industry and Manufacturing: Applied in packaging, sampling, and parts counting. Education: Suitable for demonstrations, experiments, and projects involving weighing, counting, and percentage calculations. Field Work: Ideal for on-site measurements in various settings, including agriculture, construction, and environmental studies. General Weighing: Used for basic weighing tasks in offices, homes, and commercial settings.

Educational/School Balances

Educational balances are designed to be a low cost entry level option for demonstrating the fundamentals of weighing in an educational setting such as school, colleges, universities and educational laboratories. Though the capability is basic this also means the interface is also basic making them easy to understand and use by students. Often bought in quantity to ensure each trainee has one to use, they are slim, stackable, run on mains or battery, and they wont break the bank.

Washdown / Waterproof balances

Washdown scales or Waterproof balances are scales specifically for use with liquids. In dusty, dirty, greasy or even food environments scales or balances need cleaning in order to ensure they continue to work optimally. A build up of residue on a scale can add extra weight skewing results or clog up components of the weighing scale. The weighing pans are often in stainless steel or high grade steel and the indicators are specially designed to ensure they are IP rated and avoid damage to the electricals and avoid rust.
