Force gauges are measuring instruments used to measure the pull force or pressure applied. Force gauges are commonly used in applications such as a door opening, strength of wire or friction testing etc. Force gauges can be set to display the peak load or the live reading. We offer both analogue and digital force gauges with a wide array of optional accessories to satisfy your application.

Frequently Asked Questions

Force gauges are measuring instruments used to measure tensile or compression forces applied by weight or any mechanical process. Applications exist in research and development, laboratory, quality assurance, manufacturing, production and logistics.

Capacities vary across our force gauge range up to and including 100,000 Newtons, equivalent to 10,197kg of force. However, a typical range is between 5,000 to 10,000 Newtons. You can browse the entire range here.

The readability of a Force Gauge refers to the smallest increment or division they accurately display. This indicates the precision and sensitivity of the equipment. Readability is also sometimes referred to as resolution or division size.

Electronic or digital Force Gauges are typically significantly more accurate than mechanical alternatives. Built with precision, they can provide accurate results time after time. Ask our sales team about your requirements and we can ensure you get the best product.

Calibration certificates provide evidence that your Force Gauge has been tested and adjusted to ensure precision. They are often required as part of an organisation's quality assurance procedures. Our service teams can help with any questions you may have regarding certifying our products.

Re-calibration periods will vary depending on how a Force Gauge is used. We do, however, normally recommend they are calibrated annually as a minimum. Speak to our team with any questions.

Force Gauges may require Trade Approvals alongside calibration if you are selling based on weight. Trade Approval types vary from industry to industry. Contact our sales team to find what works best for you.

Power requirements vary across our range. You can choose force gauges that require AA batteries, internal rechargeable batteries or main AC power. Contact our sales teams if you have any questions about installing or operating our force gauge range.

We provide a broad range of Force Gauges with prices that vary from under £200 to £1300 depending on their performance and features.

Our Force Gauges can typically be delivered to your premises within 3-7 days depending on the make and model. Contact our sales team for more information.
