Description

BA-T/BA Series Micro Balances and Semi-Micro Balances

Discover exceptional accuracy and intelligent design with our A&D cutting-edge Micro Balances and Semi-Micro Balances — engineered for laboratories that demand ultra-precise measurement, whether at the 0.001 mg (micro balance) or 0.01 mg (semi-micro balance) level.

Whether you’re weighing minute quantities for pharmaceutical formulations or managing trace-level measurements in research labs, the BA-T/BA Series delivers repeatable, reliable, and compliant results across applications.

What Is the Difference Between Micro and Semi-Micro Balances?

  • Micro balances offer readability down to 1 µg (0.001 mg), suitable for ultra-fine measurements in chemical and analytical research.

  • Semi-micro balances offer readability to 10 µg (0.01 mg), ideal for high-precision tasks where full micro-level resolution isn’t required.

The BA-T/BA Series includes models that cater to both specifications, giving you the flexibility to choose the right instrument for your needs without compromise.

Key Features & Benefits

Hands-Free Operation – Automatic breeze break doors open and close using non-contact infrared sensors, maintaining cleanliness and reducing cross-contamination.

Intuitive 5″ Colour Touchscreen (BA-T Series) – User-friendly interface for effortless navigation of weighing modes and settings.

External Ionizer – Neutralises static to ensure consistent, stable results, especially critical in micro and semi-micro weighing.

Enhanced Cleanability – Unique detachable breeze break and separable glass panes make cleaning efficient and thorough.

Hygienic Design – No grooves in sliding doors reduce contamination risk — essential for pharmaceutical environments.

Increased Stability – Inner breeze break (patent pending) delivers exceptional precision, especially for 0.001 mg micro balance models.

Smart Levelling Assist (BA-T Series) – On-screen guidance for exact balance alignment.

Impact Shock Detection (ISD) – Protects delicate sensors by detecting and logging shocks.

AD-Just Technology – Internal auto-calibration ensures ongoing sensitivity and accuracy.

Environmental Performance Check – Built-in repeatability testing in real-world lab conditions.

Daily & Periodic Calibration Support (BA-T Series) – Stay compliant with integrated calibration support tools.

Smart Routine Check (SRC) – Promotes consistent performance with guided user routines.

User Management & Data Logging – Robust access control, audit trails, and password protection for GLP/GMP compliance.

Customisable Printouts – Fully tailorable output formatting for ISO and quality system documentation.

Multiple Weighing Modes – Includes Formulation, HPLC, Counting with ACAI, Percent Mode, and Statistical Calculations (BA-T Series).

Auto ON/OFF & Underhook Weighing – Save energy and weigh with flexibility, including density measurements.

Ideal Applications

Designed for pharmaceutical, chemical, academic, and industrial laboratories, the BA-T/BA Series micro and semi-micro balances provide the precision, hygiene, and durability required in today’s most demanding environments.

Whether you need a 0.001 mg micro balance for trace analysis or a semi-micro balance for routine high-precision workflows, the BA-T/BA Series offers both — without compromise.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please see below for answers to frequently asked questions.

A calibration certificate proves the accuracy of your weighing equipment. It is very likely that if accuracy matters in your workplace, certification will be required by your industry regulators. They are straightforward to get hold of though. Just ask our team.

If you are trading or transacting anything by weight, you will probably need to demonstrate your weighing equipment is verified for trade use. This gives your customers confidence in your business and will make sure buying and selling run smoothly. We can help get you with relevant approvals for your equipment.

The answer will vary depending on how your equipment is used. As a minimum, we typically recommend once a year but our team can provide advice based on your individual circumstances.

The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has established standards for the classification of calibration test weights. Varying from E0 & E1, which are the most accurate to M2 which are commonly used for calibrating platform scales, floor scales and other industrial weighing instruments.

As a rough guide we have listed desired accuracy against class below.

+/- 0.1% – UNclassed Proof Load Test Weights
+/- 0.05% – M3 (Check/calibrate coarse scales)
+/- 0.005% – M1 (Check/calibrate standard scales)
+/- 0.0015% – F2 (Check/calibrate portable balances)
+/- 0.0005% – F1 (Check/calibrate precision balances)
+/- 0.00015% – E2 (Check/calibrate analytical balances)

The choice of weight class depends on the intended use and the level of accuracy required for a particular application. If you’re unsure, talk to our team who can advise you on the right class for your equipment.

If you’re sending a scale back to us for recalibration, it is ideal to use the original packaging. If this is not available choose a sturdy well-padded box to avoid shocks. Where possible, protect the load sensor by removing the weighing pan and any under-pan support and pack these separately in the box. You may be able to use the equipment’s locking pins or screws too.

Do ensure all the paperwork, including your contact details, is included to ensure we can return it once calibration is complete.
