Description

The World’s First IP65 compliant, Dust & Water-Proof Precision (1mg) Balances

Built on A&D’s cutting-edge sensor technology, the FX-i series is a highly robust precision balance that delivers fast and accurate weighing without any frills, offering cost-effective solutions for a diverse array of applications.

Compact footprint: 198 mm × 294 mm

By taking advantage of our Compact Super Hybrid Sensor (C-SHS) technology A&D significantly reduced the size of a precision balance making it 25% smaller in footprint than the conventional models, making it ideal for installation and use in confined spaces.

High-speed weighing with 1-second stabilization
The C-SHS combines the best of magnetic force restoration and single point parallelogram load sensing technologies. This allows the C-SHS to realize a stabilization speed of just 1 second while maintaining extremely high span stability making these balances excellent at weighing liquids and for dosing applications.

Internal shock absorber
Protects the C-SHS from the adverse effects of vertical and transverse overloading. This is especially effective if the balance is embedded in an automated weighing system where actuator malfunctions are a possibility.

Die cast & stainless steel body with its IP65 dust & water protection enabling the measurement of powder or liquid at 1mg resolution, eliminating any worries about damage to the balance. Built on A&D’s cutting-edge sensor technology, the FX-iWP series is a highly robust precision balance that delivers fast and accurate weighing without any frills, offering cost-effective solutions for a diverse array of applications. Our Compact Super Hybrid Sensor (C-SHS) technology combines the best of magnetic force restoration and single point parallelogram load sensing technologies. This allows the C-SHS to realize a response speed of just 1 second while maintaining extremely high span stability. RS-232C interface, WinCT Software, statistical calculation function as standard. GLP/GMP/GCP/ISO Compliant. Ideal for weighing fast flowing powders and liquids. Perspex draft shield on FZ-120-i/200i/300i models.

Multiple units of measure
You can easily select from: g, oz, lb, lb-oz, ozt, ct, mom, dwt, gr, pcs (counting mode), % (percent mode) and a user-programmable unit for conversion applications. One additional unit from tl, tol, or N can be added upon request.

GLP/GMP/GCP/ISO compliant output
For documentation requirements, the balance can output its manufacturer, model, serial number, ID number, date + time*3, space for signature for calibration report, calibration test report, and title & end blocks for a series of weighing results. *3 For the FZ-i models only. Please use the AD-8127 compact printer, which has a calendar function, to print the date and time with the FX-i models.

Statistical calculation function (SCF)
The balance can display and output statistical calculation data including number of data, sum, maximum, minimum, range (maximum–minimum), average, standard deviation, and coefficient of variation to facilitate the analysis of measurements.

Adjustable response characteristics and hold function
From three preset combinations of weighing speed and stability (FAST, MID, or SLOW), select the one that best suits your environmental conditions (drafts and vibrations).

A hold function is also available for weighing animals
Automatic counting accuracy improvement (ACAI) For the counting function, the balance recalculates the average unit weight as samples are added to eliminate errors caused by variations in unit weight.

Built-in rechargeable battery (FXi-09)
The Ni-MH rechargeable battery pack can be fitted into the balance for use without AC power (10 hours of charging for 8 hours of operation).

Frequently Asked Questions

Please see below for answers to frequently asked questions.

A calibration certificate proves the accuracy of your weighing equipment. It is very likely that if accuracy matters in your workplace, certification will be required by your industry regulators. They are straightforward to get hold of though. Just ask our team.

If you are trading or transacting anything by weight, you will probably need to demonstrate your weighing equipment is verified for trade use. This gives your customers confidence in your business and will make sure buying and selling run smoothly. We can help get you with relevant approvals for your equipment.

The answer will vary depending on how your equipment is used. As a minimum, we typically recommend once a year but our team can provide advice based on your individual circumstances.

The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has established standards for the classification of calibration test weights. Varying from E0 & E1, which are the most accurate to M2 which are commonly used for calibrating platform scales, floor scales and other industrial weighing instruments.

As a rough guide we have listed desired accuracy against class below.

+/- 0.1% – UNclassed Proof Load Test Weights
+/- 0.05% – M3 (Check/calibrate coarse scales)
+/- 0.005% – M1 (Check/calibrate standard scales)
+/- 0.0015% – F2 (Check/calibrate portable balances)
+/- 0.0005% – F1 (Check/calibrate precision balances)
+/- 0.00015% – E2 (Check/calibrate analytical balances)

The choice of weight class depends on the intended use and the level of accuracy required for a particular application. If you’re unsure, talk to our team who can advise you on the right class for your equipment.

If you’re sending a scale back to us for recalibration, it is ideal to use the original packaging. If this is not available choose a sturdy well-padded box to avoid shocks. Where possible, protect the load sensor by removing the weighing pan and any under-pan support and pack these separately in the box. You may be able to use the equipment’s locking pins or screws too.

Do ensure all the paperwork, including your contact details, is included to ensure we can return it once calibration is complete.
