Description

Marsden M-210 Medical Chair Scale (Class III Approved)

The Marsden M-210 is an industry-leading Class III Approved medical chair scale, designed specifically for healthcare environments that demand a balance of high precision and rapid mobility. Recognized as a “ward essential,” the M-210 is the preferred weighing solution for hospitals, GP surgeries, and residential care homes where patients may have restricted mobility.

By combining a lightweight, manoeuvrable frame with a robust 250kg capacity, the M-210 ensures that medical-grade weight data can be collected efficiently at the patient’s bedside or within a dedicated outpatient department.

Professional Accuracy & Clinical Functionality

As a Class III Approved instrument, the M-210 meets the rigorous legal standards required for the monitoring, diagnosis, and medical treatment of patients.

  • Dual-Range Precision: The scale offers ultra-fine 50g graduations for patients up to 150kg, and 100g graduations thereafter, ensuring reliable data for critical medication dosages.

  • Instant BMI Calculation: Features a full numeric keypad and triple LCD display, allowing clinicians to input patient height and view Weight, Height, and BMI simultaneously.

  • Stable Readings: Integrated Hold and Tare functions ensure that an accurate weight is captured and locked on the display, even if the patient is moving or requires additional support.

Designed for Patient Dignity and Mobility

The M-210 is engineered to facilitate safe and comfortable patient handling:

  • Effortless Manoeuvrability: Weighing only 18kg, this is one of the lightest professional chair scales available. It features four wheels (including two with safety brakes) and ergonomic handles for smooth transport across various floor surfaces.

  • Side-On Transfers: The hinged armrests and footrests are designed to fold away completely. This allows for seamless transfers from beds or wheelchairs, reducing the manual handling burden on nursing staff.

  • Infection Control: The non-porous seat (400mm x 380mm) is designed for easy wipe-down between patients, supporting strict hygiene protocols in high-traffic wards.

Smart Connectivity & Remote Monitoring

The M-210 is built for the modern, paperless healthcare environment. It includes a standard data port for Marsden printers, with several “future-proof” wireless options:

  • Optional Wireless Modules: Can be specified with Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or USB connectivity.

  • EMR Integration: These modules allow weight and BMI data to be sent directly to Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems, significantly reducing manual data-entry errors.

Reliability and Power

Designed for continuous use in busy clinical settings, the M-210 offers exceptional battery performance:

  • Rechargeable Power: The internal battery provides up to 55 hours of continuous use (approximately 3,000 weigh-ins) from a single charge.

  • Mains Operation: A 12V 1A mains adaptor is included for fixed-location weighing or recharging.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please see below for answers to frequently asked questions.

A calibration certificate proves the accuracy of your weighing equipment. It is very likely that if accuracy matters in your workplace, certification will be required by your industry regulators. They are straightforward to get hold of though. Just ask our team.

If you are trading or transacting anything by weight, you will probably need to demonstrate your weighing equipment is verified for trade use. This gives your customers confidence in your business and will make sure buying and selling run smoothly. We can help get you with relevant approvals for your equipment.

The answer will vary depending on how your equipment is used. As a minimum, we typically recommend once a year but our team can provide advice based on your individual circumstances.

The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has established standards for the classification of calibration test weights. Varying from E0 & E1, which are the most accurate to M2 which are commonly used for calibrating platform scales, floor scales and other industrial weighing instruments.

As a rough guide we have listed desired accuracy against class below.

+/- 0.1% – UNclassed Proof Load Test Weights
+/- 0.05% – M3 (Check/calibrate coarse scales)
+/- 0.005% – M1 (Check/calibrate standard scales)
+/- 0.0015% – F2 (Check/calibrate portable balances)
+/- 0.0005% – F1 (Check/calibrate precision balances)
+/- 0.00015% – E2 (Check/calibrate analytical balances)

The choice of weight class depends on the intended use and the level of accuracy required for a particular application. If you’re unsure, talk to our team who can advise you on the right class for your equipment.

If you’re sending a scale back to us for recalibration, it is ideal to use the original packaging. If this is not available choose a sturdy well-padded box to avoid shocks. Where possible, protect the load sensor by removing the weighing pan and any under-pan support and pack these separately in the box. You may be able to use the equipment’s locking pins or screws too.

Do ensure all the paperwork, including your contact details, is included to ensure we can return it once calibration is complete.
