Description

Marsden M-225 Entry-Level Medical Chair Scale (Class III Approved)

The Marsden M-225 is an essential, cost-effective weighing solution designed specifically for care homes and hospital wards that require Class III accuracy without the premium price tag. Engineered as a streamlined alternative to the M-210, the M-225 provides clinical precision, high portability, and a unique Body Surface Area (BSA) calculator, making it a versatile tool for general patient care.

Despite its affordable positioning, the M-225 does not compromise on safety or compliance, offering a robust 250kg capacity and full medical approval for professional use.

Affordable Excellence in Clinical Weighing

The M-225 is designed for simplicity and efficiency, featuring a user-friendly 5-key interface that allows staff to focus on patient care rather than complex menu navigation.

  • Class III Approved: Fully certified for medical diagnosis and legal monitoring of patient weight.

  • BSA Calculation: Unlike many standard scales, the M-225 includes a Body Surface Area (BSA) calculator, a vital metric for clinicians when determining precise medication dosages or fluid requirements.

  • Reliable Precision: Delivers a consistent 100g accuracy across its entire 250kg range, ensuring dependable data for patient records.

Safety, Mobility, and Patient Comfort

Moving a chair scale through busy corridors should be effortless. The M-225 is built with both staff and patient safety in mind:

  • Exceptional Manoeuvrability: Equipped with four high-quality wheels (two featuring safety brakes), the scale is lightweight and easy to glide into position at the bedside.

  • Easy Patient Transfers: The hinged armrests allow for unobstructed access during side-on transfers from beds or wheelchairs. Once the patient is seated, the built-in footrests provide stability and comfort.

  • Infection Control: The ergonomic seat is constructed from smooth, non-porous materials, making it quick and easy to sanitize between weigh-ins.

Industry-Leading Battery Life & Connectivity

One of the standout features of the M-225 is its power efficiency, designed to handle weeks of ward rounds without needing a charge.

  • Unrivalled Power: Powered by 6x AA batteries, the scale provides up to 180 hours of use, equivalent to approximately 9,000 weigh-ins. A battery life indicator ensures you are never caught off guard.

  • Mains Versatility: A mains adaptor is included as standard for fixed-location use.

  • USB Integration: Includes a USB Type B port, allowing for easy data transfer and digital record keeping.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please see below for answers to frequently asked questions.

A calibration certificate proves the accuracy of your weighing equipment. It is very likely that if accuracy matters in your workplace, certification will be required by your industry regulators. They are straightforward to get hold of though. Just ask our team.

If you are trading or transacting anything by weight, you will probably need to demonstrate your weighing equipment is verified for trade use. This gives your customers confidence in your business and will make sure buying and selling run smoothly. We can help get you with relevant approvals for your equipment.

The answer will vary depending on how your equipment is used. As a minimum, we typically recommend once a year but our team can provide advice based on your individual circumstances.

The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has established standards for the classification of calibration test weights. Varying from E0 & E1, which are the most accurate to M2 which are commonly used for calibrating platform scales, floor scales and other industrial weighing instruments.

As a rough guide we have listed desired accuracy against class below.

+/- 0.1% – UNclassed Proof Load Test Weights
+/- 0.05% – M3 (Check/calibrate coarse scales)
+/- 0.005% – M1 (Check/calibrate standard scales)
+/- 0.0015% – F2 (Check/calibrate portable balances)
+/- 0.0005% – F1 (Check/calibrate precision balances)
+/- 0.00015% – E2 (Check/calibrate analytical balances)

The choice of weight class depends on the intended use and the level of accuracy required for a particular application. If you’re unsure, talk to our team who can advise you on the right class for your equipment.

If you’re sending a scale back to us for recalibration, it is ideal to use the original packaging. If this is not available choose a sturdy well-padded box to avoid shocks. Where possible, protect the load sensor by removing the weighing pan and any under-pan support and pack these separately in the box. You may be able to use the equipment’s locking pins or screws too.

Do ensure all the paperwork, including your contact details, is included to ensure we can return it once calibration is complete.
