Description

The Marsden M-320 is the lightest Class III Approved portable baby scale at just 2.4kg. Perfect for midwives and health visitors.

The Marsden M-320 is the ultimate lightweight solution for healthcare professionals on the move. Engineered specifically for community midwives, health visitors, and lactation consultants, this scale prioritises portability without compromising on clinical precision. Weighing just 2.4kg, it is significantly lighter than standard clinical baby scales, drastically reducing the physical burden for practitioners travelling between home visits.

As a Class III Approved medical device, the M-320 is legally certified for medical monitoring and diagnosis. Its simple, 2-in-1 design features a secure, slide-off tray that easily converts the unit into a stable floor scale for toddlers, offering a complete paediatric weighing solution in one compact package.

Engineered for Community Portability

The M-320 is built to be the most mobile Class III baby scale on the market, offering a perfect balance of durability and minimal weight.

Key Performance Features:

  • Ultra-Lightweight 2.4kg Chassis: Designed to be comfortably carried all day, the M-320 is the lightest professional scale in its class, making it the “gold standard” for mobile healthcare workers.

  • Exceptional Battery Efficiency: Powered by just 4 x AA batteries, the M-320 provides up to 100 hours of continuous use. The auto power-off function further preserves battery life, ensuring the scale is ready when you need it.

  • Versatile 2-in-1 Functionality: The curved, hygienic baby tray provides a secure environment for infants. When removed, the scale functions as a low-profile platform for standing toddlers up to 20kg.

  • Precision Accuracy: With 10g graduations, the M-320 provides the reliable data necessary for tracking infant weight gain and nutritional progress in community settings.

  • Smart “Hold” & “Tare” Functions: The Hold feature stabilises the weight reading of active infants, while the Tare function allows you to deduct the weight of blankets or clothing instantly.

Simple & Robust Operation

  • High-Contrast LCD Display: Large, easy-to-read digits ensure accuracy in all lighting conditions, from clinical wards to domestic settings.

  • Recall Memory: Easily view the previous weight reading with the integrated memory function, assisting with rapid data recording.

  • Protective Transport Options: To maintain calibration and protect the sensors during transit, the M-320 can be paired with an optional padded carry case (CC-400) or a rucksack (RK-400) for hands-free portability.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please see below for answers to frequently asked questions.

A calibration certificate proves the accuracy of your weighing equipment. It is very likely that if accuracy matters in your workplace, certification will be required by your industry regulators. They are straightforward to get hold of though. Just ask our team.

If you are trading or transacting anything by weight, you will probably need to demonstrate your weighing equipment is verified for trade use. This gives your customers confidence in your business and will make sure buying and selling run smoothly. We can help get you with relevant approvals for your equipment.

The answer will vary depending on how your equipment is used. As a minimum, we typically recommend once a year but our team can provide advice based on your individual circumstances.

The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has established standards for the classification of calibration test weights. Varying from E0 & E1, which are the most accurate to M2 which are commonly used for calibrating platform scales, floor scales and other industrial weighing instruments.

As a rough guide we have listed desired accuracy against class below.

+/- 0.1% – UNclassed Proof Load Test Weights
+/- 0.05% – M3 (Check/calibrate coarse scales)
+/- 0.005% – M1 (Check/calibrate standard scales)
+/- 0.0015% – F2 (Check/calibrate portable balances)
+/- 0.0005% – F1 (Check/calibrate precision balances)
+/- 0.00015% – E2 (Check/calibrate analytical balances)

The choice of weight class depends on the intended use and the level of accuracy required for a particular application. If you’re unsure, talk to our team who can advise you on the right class for your equipment.

If you’re sending a scale back to us for recalibration, it is ideal to use the original packaging. If this is not available choose a sturdy well-padded box to avoid shocks. Where possible, protect the load sensor by removing the weighing pan and any under-pan support and pack these separately in the box. You may be able to use the equipment’s locking pins or screws too.

Do ensure all the paperwork, including your contact details, is included to ensure we can return it once calibration is complete.
