Description

The Marsden M-900 is a portable, 600kg capacity bed scale. Features two weigh beams, 200g accuracy, BMI calculation, and fold-out ramps. Class III Approved.

The Marsden M-900 is the definitive professional solution for weighing bed-bound patients with dignity and clinical precision. Designed for high-dependency environments such as intensive care units, renal wards, and hospices, this Class III Approved system eliminates the need for distressing patient transfers or the use of hoists.

By utilizing two independent, low-profile weigh beams, the M-900 allows healthcare staff to roll a bed directly onto the scale. With its massive 600kg capacity, the system is engineered to handle everything from standard hospital trolleys to heavy-duty bariatric beds with ease.

Precision Engineering for High-Dependency Care

The M-900 provides the accuracy required for the practice of medicine, where precise weight data is critical for fluid balance monitoring and medication dosing.

  • Massive 600kg Capacity: Specifically built to accommodate bariatric beds and their occupants safely.

  • Clinical Accuracy: Delivers high-resolution 200g graduations, ensuring even minor weight fluctuations are captured for medical records.

  • Innovative Fold-Out Ramps: Each beam features integrated, gentle-incline ramps that fold out for use, allowing beds with various wheel sizes to be positioned smoothly onto the scale.

Advanced Features for Clinical Efficiency

Equipped with a premium multi-screen indicator and full numeric keypad, the M-650 streamlines the weighing process:

  • Simultaneous Data Display: Three clear LCD screens show Weight, Height, and BMI at once, reducing the time spent toggling through menus.

  • Intelligent Tare & Preset Tare: Instantly subtract the weight of the bed. Using Preset Tare, clinicians can store the weights of standard ward beds, ensuring the display only shows the patient’s net weight.

  • Hold Technology: The “Hold” function stabilizes and locks the reading on the display, allowing the clinician to focus on the patient before recording the data.

Mobile Versatility & Digital Readiness

Despite its heavy-duty performance, the M-900 is remarkably easy for a single member of staff to transport and store:

  • Ward Mobility: Each beam weighs approximately 11.5kg and is fitted with integrated wheels and ergonomic handles. The beams can be stored vertically, making them ideal for facilities with limited floor space.

  • Uninterrupted Power: The internal rechargeable battery provides up to 55 hours of continuous use (approximately 3,000 weigh-ins). A 12V 1A mains adaptor is included for stationary use or recharging.

  • Future-Proof Connectivity: A standard data port is included for printers, with optional Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connectivity available to transmit patient weight data directly to Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.

Frequently Asked Questions

Please see below for answers to frequently asked questions.

A calibration certificate proves the accuracy of your weighing equipment. It is very likely that if accuracy matters in your workplace, certification will be required by your industry regulators. They are straightforward to get hold of though. Just ask our team.

If you are trading or transacting anything by weight, you will probably need to demonstrate your weighing equipment is verified for trade use. This gives your customers confidence in your business and will make sure buying and selling run smoothly. We can help get you with relevant approvals for your equipment.

The answer will vary depending on how your equipment is used. As a minimum, we typically recommend once a year but our team can provide advice based on your individual circumstances.

The International Organization of Legal Metrology (OIML) has established standards for the classification of calibration test weights. Varying from E0 & E1, which are the most accurate to M2 which are commonly used for calibrating platform scales, floor scales and other industrial weighing instruments.

As a rough guide we have listed desired accuracy against class below.

+/- 0.1% – UNclassed Proof Load Test Weights
+/- 0.05% – M3 (Check/calibrate coarse scales)
+/- 0.005% – M1 (Check/calibrate standard scales)
+/- 0.0015% – F2 (Check/calibrate portable balances)
+/- 0.0005% – F1 (Check/calibrate precision balances)
+/- 0.00015% – E2 (Check/calibrate analytical balances)

The choice of weight class depends on the intended use and the level of accuracy required for a particular application. If you’re unsure, talk to our team who can advise you on the right class for your equipment.

If you’re sending a scale back to us for recalibration, it is ideal to use the original packaging. If this is not available choose a sturdy well-padded box to avoid shocks. Where possible, protect the load sensor by removing the weighing pan and any under-pan support and pack these separately in the box. You may be able to use the equipment’s locking pins or screws too.

Do ensure all the paperwork, including your contact details, is included to ensure we can return it once calibration is complete.
